Tiedtville & Santa Fe Exhibit

Where: FCHS Museum, located on the grounds of Pleasant Dale Park District

New exhibit at the museum:
Come in and see this expanded exhibit. Learn about the small unincorporated town called Tiedtville which started out as a tavern , dance pavilion and horse track and expanded into a town with a grocery store with a post office , a butcher shop, a bowling alley, a barbershop and it’s own jail! Summer cottages were also available so you could escape the big city.

In 1953 the town was torn down and turned into very popular auto and motorcycle racetrack. Many photos of the town, the track, the drivers and the events will be on display.

Copies of Tiedtville and Santa Fe Speedway, a book by Christina Andino are available for purchase at the museum.

Also at the museum are displays on Native America, Natural History, tools, and early settlers.

Our Kids Korner is popular with children and adults too. Come in and try out a typewriter, a rotary dial phone, a pump organ and lots more.
